within a serpent headed wreath, rev., long
cross botonnée within a cross of lobes,
over small saltire of lobes,

slightly frayed and small wave in flan, otherwise gooD very fine, toned, extremely rare. $1595 SOLD

- Found at Elford,
near Tamworth, Staffordshire, England (SK 1910).

The EMC database notes read: "'The reverse is exactly
like those used by Dud on Blunt 26-28; the obverse appears to be
unparalleled. This is the first coin of Offa actually found near his
primary residence at Tamworth.'"
