Star both sides (1526-29), seated figure of king, H D G ROSA SIE SPIA, rev., quartered royal arms over long cross fourchée�e dividing T W (Thomas Wolsey), cardinals hat below, CIVITAS DVRHAN (N.1813; S.2354), weak figure, very fine, with the historically important Cardinals hat and initials which on his York mint Groats were used as evidence against Wolsey when he was tried for exceeding his power and impinging upon the Royal Prerogative. $95
