small overlapping flan flaw at centre of coin on both sides, scarce and
interesting. $795
NOW $495 It is
known from a surviving contemporary writ that this moneyer, Ædgar, worked
for the Abbot Hugh and the Abbey of Reading at London, under a special
dispensation granted by Henry I. The privilege continued into the reign of
Edward III. |
